Age Checks for Online Users

Many online goods and services are age-restricted. AgeChecked is used by website operators to ensure that they are compliant with the law, by selling only to eligible customers.

What are age checks?

Websites offering age-restricted goods and services are now legally required to check the customer’s age eligibility before entering into an online transaction with them.

Age verification is an issue of eligibility rather than identity and it asks the question: is this person the correct age to buy or access what is being sold? AgeChecked provides website operators with a Yes/No answer to this question, nothing more.

How do I use AgeChecked?

The first time you visit the site you will be asked to provide proof of your age from a range of options. You simply choose the one that is best for you.

Once your age has been verified, your account will be set up. This means that you will be able to gain access to age-restricted goods and services simply by signing in with your AgeChecked password.

Your account with AgeChecked is private. We will not share you details with website operators. To find out more about our privacy policy, click here.

  • Our system anonymises you throughout the process.
  • We hold no personal data on our system.
  • Once your age is proved, we wipe your data from our system.
